Thank you for your interest in the Ministry of Reader at St. Cecilia Church.
The Ministry of Reader is established to promote stewardship within the Catholic Community of St. Cecilia through trained members of our community who have the desire and talent to become instruments of God in proclaiming God's Word in the Liturgy.
Readers are called to have an appreciation of the Gospel message, understand the importance of the Ministry and are dedicated to effectively communicating God's Word to his people.
The objectives of this Ministry are:
to maintain a qualified group of parish members scheduled to serve in this Ministry as readers at the celebration of the liturgy on Sundays, Holy days, Weekdays and other occasions
provide readers with the opportunity to serve as readers on a regular basis.
regularly seek new members of the Parish Community to serve in this Ministry
provide the training and resources to Readers so as to effectively proclaim the Word of the Lord
provide readers other opportunities, both within the parish community and the Diocese, to strengthen their understanding and commitment to this Ministry and increase their faith in the Lord's Word.
The Ministry of Readers will be comprised of a sufficient number of Readers, so as to allow liturgy assignments at least once a month, if possible.
Parishioners interested in the Ministry of Readers are asked to complete the Readers Interest Form at the left and submit it according to the directions found on the form.
Schedules
A schedule of Weekend reader assignments will be published four times a year:
